GAS Talk series #9 with H. Sakamoto, MD, on global health.
Here is some 30 min. video of the interview I dd with Haruka Sakamoto, one of the Global Agenda Seminar series participants in 2012.
Inspired by people including Mother Teresa and Dr. Albert Schweitzer whose story she read while at grade school. she decided to become a medical professional for the marginalized population in the world.
She wants more young people in Japan to get engaged with global health movement (now so as Covid-19 has made all of us the importance of health and of international collaboration). For that type of work, you need project management of skills with communication, and not necessarily medical degrees.
The way she follows her own dream and tries to accomplish her purpose is very encouraging and inspiring. Please take a look at the video.
